Pow-R-Bar

Our fiberglass rebar. Corrosion-proof, non-conductive, and lighter than steel. ICC-listed for structural use. Three sizes to match every Pow-R-Wall application. Made in USA.

Reinforcement

Pow-R-Bar is our fiberglass rebar — engineered as a direct structural replacement for steel rebar in Pow-R-Wall projects. Every property that makes steel rebar problematic in below-grade, coastal, and high-humidity construction is absent in Pow-R-Bar. Every property that makes steel rebar work structurally is present.

Three specifications that change the wall

Corrosion-proof. Pow-R-Bar is fiberglass — glass fibers embedded in a thermoset resin matrix. It cannot rust, cannot pit, cannot expand from oxidation. The two failure modes that eat conventional foundation walls from the inside out — rebar corrosion and concrete spalling from rebar rust — are simply not physically possible with Pow-R-Bar.

Non-conductive. Fiberglass rebar doesn’t conduct electricity or heat. In coastal or high-water-table sites, this eliminates the galvanic corrosion that shortens the life of steel-reinforced concrete. In grid-tied buildings, it prevents rebar from acting as an unintended electrical path.

Lighter than steel. Pow-R-Bar weighs roughly a quarter of the equivalent steel rebar per linear foot. On a typical residential foundation, that’s the difference between a two-person crew carrying rebar or a lift. On a multi-story project, that’s the difference between one delivery and multiple.

ICC-listed and code-compliant

Pow-R-Bar carries an ICC-ES ESR listing that documents its structural equivalence to steel rebar for Pow-R-Wall applications. Your engineering stamp specifies the Pow-R-Bar sizes and placement schedule for your specific project — no separate engineering scope required to substitute Pow-R-Bar for steel.

Three sizes

  • #3 — Recommended for standard residential foundation and lower-load conditions

  • #4 — Recommended for multi-story residential and light commercial

  • #5 — Recommended for high-load applications, seismic zones, and taller commercial projects

Your project’s engineering shop drawings specify which size(s) ship with the order and the exact placement schedule.

Made in USA

Pow-R-Bar is manufactured in the United States. Every project’s rebar shipment comes with mill certification and traceability documentation for engineering review.

Compatibility

Pow-R-Bar works with the same tie wire, bending techniques, and installation sequence as steel rebar. Field cutting uses a standard abrasive blade or fiber saw — no special tools required. Your installer’s existing rebar workflow doesn’t change.
