Retainer Clips
Patented ABS plastic clips that hold both the EPS panels and vertical rebar in position. Eliminates rebar wire-tying at every course.
Hardware
Retainer Clips are the small hardware element that quietly saves the most time on a Pow-R-Wall install. Each clip snaps into the web of a furring assembly and does two jobs at once: retains the foam panel in its final position, and locks vertical rebar into engineered placement.
What they do
Two functions integrated into a single clip:
Panel retention — The clip holds the exterior foam panel firmly against the interior panel, keeping the panel assembly straight during construction and the concrete pour.
Vertical rebar positioning — Each clip has two vertical positions — a “center” position and an “off-set” position — to place vertical rebar exactly where the engineering shop drawings specify.
Why this matters
Without integrated rebar retention, every course of vertical rebar has to be tied by hand to horizontal rebar at multiple points during the pour prep. On a typical single-family foundation, that’s hundreds of tie points. Retainer Clips eliminate this step entirely — the vertical rebar drops into the clip position and stays there through the pour.
Patented design
The Retainer Clip’s dual-position rebar retention is a patented feature of the Pow-R-Wall system, part of the broader U.S. Patent #8,371,082 and Canadian Patent #2,621,021.
Material
Retainer Clips are injection-molded ABS plastic. The manufacturing process produces near-zero landfill waste, and the finished clip is corrosion-proof (no rust concerns from below-grade or high-moisture applications).
Quantity per project
Retainer Clip quantity is calculated per project based on wall height, panel count, and reinforcement schedule. Your engineered shop drawings will specify the exact quantity needed — clips ship with the panel order in the correct count.
